Twitterpated!? A Tutorial For Managing Multiple Twitter Accounts

Its nice to have separate Twitter accounts for different ministries and church groups. Some of the possible uses include:

  • Daily Thought/Prayer/Verse Related to Sermon Series or Group Study
  • Morning Prayer and Meditation Spark
  • Reminders to Pray for Specific Items
  • Daily Spiritual Challenges

Signing up for the individual accounts is easy… Managing them day to day can be difficult.

  • Off topic a bit, but I am sure no one will mind.

To avoid a long winded response, I will just point to the Macedonians and “their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity”

10% is a good round starting point, but I think %100 sounds more fair considering it doesn’t really belong to us anyway. ;)

  • I’ve been toying with the idea of multiple, targeted Twitter accounts for months and am thinking there’s got to be a good tool to handle those.

I’ll have to check out Netvibes, but wonder what other tools are available (it seems like I read about a new Twitter tool every week).

I noticed today, though, that when I tried to sign up for a second account, it wouldn’t take my same email. I could probably work around this with various other of my emails, but this seems pretty clunky.

It’s as if Twitter isn’t really looking to make it easy for multiple accounts, when that would seem to be the best way to use it!

  • Thanks for posting this. I have tagged it and will come back to watch your video pres. I have a Twitter microblog ministry through Twitter and TwitterVision. But I would like to investigate the use of multiple accounts

  • Another way to manage multiple accounts could be if you use a desktop client that has this functionality. I use twhirl. It works great, and it is free! You can find them at twhirl.org

  • The tool I’ve been using to manage my multiple Twitter accounts is Twhirl, which actually sits on your desktop. It’s based on the Adobe Air platform, so it works and plays well on both Windows and Mac desktops. http://www.twhirl.org/
