  • We just got imagery for our church with the recent update a few days ago. We highlighted it in our blog, but I’m not sure there’s much else to use it for. Standard Google Maps are better for directions, and Google Earth is an easier platform for “cool” stuff.

One neat thing — we were able to place the date of our StreetView imagery to within about three days. We had a “Merry Christmas” banner up in front of the church for the few days leading up to Christmas. However, there are cars in the parking lot, so it wasn’t Christmas day. Here’s where we broke it down:

I’m certainly interested to see what other uses that churches might have for StreetView.

(side note: please install the “Subscribe to comments” or a similar plug-in. I’d love to keep track of follow-ups on this post, but doubt I’ll manually check back very often.)

  • I challenge you to think about the title of your post . “Cool New Tool: Get People To Church Using Google Streetview” Get people where? What is the Church? Are we not the Church… Ps 27:17

  • I wondered when some snobbish heckler would point this out.*

Do you think I should change the headline to “church buildings” or “church gatherings”?

*for those of you who don’t know DB is one of my best friends.
